Pet Taxi Insurance FAQ

What's Included in Pet Taxi Insurance?

How Does Pet Taxi Insurance Differ from Auto Insurance?

What Other Types of Insurance Should I Consider for My Pet Taxi Business?

  • Additional Pet Protection (Animal Bailee) coverage: Pet Protection coverage covers you if a pet is injured as a result of your services. It makes up for a large majority of claims from pet care professionals. While you have a base coverage in your policy, you can increase coverage.
  • Additional Veterinarian Reimbursement: This coverage protects your pocket if something happens while you are working that requires you to make an emergency trip to the veterinarian. It can reimburse your out of pocket expenses. While you have a base coverage in your policy, you can increase coverage.
  • Equipment & Inventory Coverage: Cover your equipment, inventory, or supplies while you work. Equipment & Inventory Coverage pays for those items if damaged or stolen. It does not cover damage to property by one of the animals in your care.
  • Online Protection Insurance (Cyber Liability): If you receive online payments, you are at risk of losing valuable customer information. If there is a data breach or someone hacks customer information, Online Protection Insurance (Cyber Liability) would protect your business from the losses.
  • Employee Dishonesty Coverage: If an employee commits theft, Employee Dishonesty Coverage can kick in to help. It can cover client damages or loss. It provides up to $10,000 per incident ($25,000 per policy year) for employee dishonesty claims.
  •

Comparing Employee Dishonesty Coverage & Bonding

PCI’s employee dishonesty coverage is similar to a bond, but there may be some key differences to consider.

Employee dishonesty coverage:

  • Can be purchased in the same transaction
  • Doesn’t run credit checks
  • Provides $10,000 per occurrence and $25,000 aggregate coverage

Bonds may differ from our dishonesty coverage by:

  • Checking your credit during the application process
  • Having a “Conviction Claus;” Often bonds won’t pay on claims unless there is a conviction
  • Many require you to reimbursement the bonding company after a claim is paid
